🔧 What Is TechView & Why You Need It
TechView Program
TechView is the PC-based service tool for Tracer CH530 chillers. It’s essential for:
- Software downloads
- Configuration and overrides
- Live and historical diagnostics
- LLID device binding
💡 Pro Tip: TechView v15 is FREE to download directly from Trane’s official website. No license needed.

🔌 What You Need to Connect
- Male DB9 Serial to USB-A cable (RS-232 Serial Converter)
- Plug into the panel behind the bottom access door
- USB-A plugs into your laptop
⚠️ Use the approved Trane USB-to-Serial adapter or the Startech adapter with the matching RS-232 (DB9) cable. Generic / cheap adapters often fail.

Tracer TU is the software for Trane chillers with UC800 AdaptiView controls. It handles:

- USB-B to USB-A cable (the square connector like a printer cable)
- Plug into the service port on the UC800 panel
