Can anyone confirm if there is a Schrader Core under this high pressure cutout switch? Tried screwing it off slowly and keeps letting gas out.

High pressure switches aren’t supposed to have a Schrader under them because it acts like a valve. That said, a lot of units have them. You can try tapping the side of the fitting with a wrench in case it’s stuck, otherwise you will need to pull some gas and swap it, not worth dumping the charge.

@the-chiller-guys yea from experience in refrigeration, I’ve seen swivel Ts used with Schraders and they get stuck or filled with debris and the HP doesn’t trip. Wanted to see if any JCI pros had a secret to share 😉

Decant as that is safest, for years now i have been advising they should mark the fitting with an S if there is a schrader inside but they do not really like to hear common sense
