I have not had the opportunity to disassemble a float valve for a 19xr. I’m pretty familiar with float mechanisms but I just need clarity on how this particular valve works. Are we trying to maintain a discharge superheat? Does anyone have specifics in regards to detailed parameters affecting the flow valve? I’m assuming if we’re maintaining the liquid level and the condenser barrel then the valve is letting a relatively constant rate of refrigerant through to the evaporator. If the level drops then the valve closes I.e maintaining discharge superheat.

This might help. I just worked on my first one today. My model had EEVs on the feed and drain valve and a solenoid that dumps the flash gas from the top of the flash tank into the suction of the compressor at around 65% of compressor capacity.
