Ecochiller. Air cooled scroll chiller
Is anyone familiar with Ecochillers? The factory support is almost non existent and cant get ahold of them. Hoping someone here has experience with them. To make it short, its got a carel controller and tied to bms. I get evaporator freezing alarms, it kicks the alarm if the suction sat temp is like 28 degrees for more than 2 minutes. It trips once to twice a week at random times of the day and random ambient temps. Return water is always between 55-58 degrees. I cant find anything that corresponds when it trips. Never lose flow and have constant flow, it doesnt trip when the lead lag pumps switch over. Ive verified the pressure transducer readings againt probes and they are almost dead nuts. When its running suction sat sits around 35 to 42 degrees and of course

Not familiar with your Chiller, but what is the leaving water temp? if you are controlling on return, is your leaving to low?
Is there glycol in the system?
Is the flow switch OK?
Is the BMS turning off valves or anything like that, which could cause flow restriction?

@tmalanche This is great info, many guys don’t give us a-lot of detail, so thanks for giving us something to work with.
I agree with Paul.
Can you answer all of his questions, and get us all of the readings, so we can help you narrow it down to a chiller, System, or automation issue?

Also, if you need a logsheet for taking your readings
Wessel made this one for everyone, and its free to download
