Who has a carrier chiller tech support number that is current? Particularly for HXC.
Want to talk to them about an intermittent 55 code befire i change a comtrol board. Pretty much ruled everything out as a problem from the error list and the board (im gonna call it clear coat) looks funky but sorta guessing at this point.

Are you working on the pro dialog, or the Comfort link controller?

@trevor-dudeck A55 ot T55? Guessing A55?

@the-chiller-guys sorry T055 with the 18 possibilities lol
Thermistors good and accurate although I did find that they were wired wrong for who knows how long not using the common and rather wired to s1 and s2. The weird to me thing about that was that between the s1 s2 resistance is OL but I would still get a temp reading that fluctuates although it was lower then actual by about 30 degrees. Then when you have the controller energized and you remove one wire from the thermistor at the compressor it instantly displays -40 temp because you are creating an OL condition. how I get a reading when connected wrong in an OL condition but then removing a wire creating a slightly different OL condition generates a different displayed temp is puzzling to me.
No ohms to ground when wires are tested individually on the thermistors with wires pulled from board on the other end buuut… short to ground on one wire and 8000ohm to ground on the other wire when it is connected to the CCP board. Somewhat of a guess but assuming that has something to do with the internals of the board configuration.
current is not perfectly balanced (8% out) was set for 15% max but raised to 20% trip yesterday in case the donut reads a little out although it runs for random amounts of time well past 25 min. Windings ohm out equal and OL to ground. The L2 is the one that is out compared to the others and is lower not higher, I did remove every terminal and clean (but they were clean) no voltage drop over contractors.
Pins are punched correctly ( also been running for a decade).
Discharge pressure is good and confirmed accurate. That said I changed it from 100 condensing temp to the 85 degree default temp to pull it even further away from a potential trip.
Motor starts and changes from eye to delta flawlessly, no hangups on shut down either and I finally witnessed the trip in person yesterday where it just stopped out of nowhere dead in its tracks.
High current trip point set to 80 and at full load it pulls 50amp with RLA of 52. At part load which is where I witnessed a trip I am seeing around 30A measured by my meter and controller.
CCP board has a weird glaze but not sure if that’s always been like that. Removed and reinstalled each jackplug to try mitigate a poor connection but all seemed fine.
I’m leaning towards an intermittent board or current sensor issue but really guessing here. -
@the-chiller-guys the weird glaze on the board

@the-chiller-guys is there anyway to see what the system sees each line amps as? All I can see is a single amp reading not all three to see if it’s reading more out of whack then reality.
-
was that 8% imbalance some thing you measured?
also, was the 50 amp full load on each phase, or just one?
-
the glaze is odd, but i wouldn’t be stressed about that. its possible it was made to be used in some sort of harsh environment. Is it an original board?
-
@the-chiller-guys the 50 amp was measured and was on 2 of 3 phases with the third phase being 8% less. The 8% is consistent no matter what state of capacity is running like if L1 and L3 are at 30amps L2 is pulling 27 amps
The glaze only caught my eye because I was looking hard for a reason for my issue. For all I know it’s always been like that and the environment is a bit on the hatsh side. As for it being original I cannot say.
On Friday I changed the current unbalance trip from the default 15% to 20% and lowered the operating condensing temperature from 100F to 85F which is default. With these changes I didn’t trip Saturday or Sunday at all.
I really don’t believe the condensing temperature being lowered has anything to do with it not tripping and really think the board or current sensors are the issue reading a higher imbalance than actual. I can use my other meter to check the motor windings again for a resistance imbalance which wouldn’t take much to throw 8% when they ohm out at .8 each but regardless that is still well below 15%. It is not possible that I know of though to see what the current sensors are actually measuring on each leg. The main controller only shows a single running amp.
8% is getting up there for an imbalance in my opinion with equal voltages on every line yet nothing crazy. -
@trevor-dudeck is it possible there is any loose wires that cause any intermittent issues while running?
talk to tech support, and let us know, maybe you need to have an electrician put an oscilloscope on the incoming power to verify before you change the board.

This number is for some of the 30 series line, give it a try 877-963-1995
