Hey guys. I am having issues on a turbocor compressor. The compressor has a very low cavity temp compared to the compressor next to it, as well as the log from last august. There haven’t been any alarms associated with this, but there is quite a difference.
The chiller is a McQuay WMC03000DSC-ER10 with 2 turbocor TT400-G-1-ST-P-12T-12KHZ compressors.
Last year, both compressors were running around 110 degree cavity temps. Today, compressor 1 was running 38-40 degrees, and compressor 2 was running 115 degrees.
I will post pictures of my logs with my phone, but this was easier to type on the computer.
I checked over the sensor today. I ohmed it out, and took a temp of the compressor body to the side of all of the boards with the side service cover removed. The temp at that time was displayed as 59 degrees. I measured around 17.5k ohms, or around 53 degrees. There was no continuity to ground. I also ohmed out the 2 solenoids, which were both at 60 ohms.
The only manual I have shows how to check the temp sensor and ohm the solenoids. No other tests or procedures are in there. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas or other tests I should perform.

Are you experiencing issues with flood back? And have you ensured that the motor cooling solenoid didn’t fail in the open position? Also look at your compressor monitor and ensure that the cooling mode isn’t always on.

What Brian said, and also check the serial driver, sometimes the switches in the serial driver that power the solenoid coils get welded, and keep the coil energized all the time

I’ve had one test fine but be faulty – was reading too high. I pulled one out of a spare parts comp to test. Replaced and been fine since.
Obviously, check your solenoids are closing and not bypassing. If you’ve got 2 comps on one circuit and a sticking open solenoid you might get faults while comp trying to stage on if other has been running (flooded start).-
@hammershammered thanks for the info brother
