I’m having issue with turbocore error
Its quantum chiller with three tt300-80tr comprassor
2x comprassor working
But 3rd is replaced with soft starter now there is power in comprassor but it shows the following error pressure ratio error

@FROSTFLOW
Can you pull a Yenta file, and drop it in these comments? -
You mean to download logs and events
-
-
@FROSTFLOW Upload the Yenta recording, and let me know if this is a new problem, or if it has been going on for awhile
-

Its water cooler chiller. The owners say evaporator is same for all three chillers. As if there is change or replace the transducer just turn the valve for suction close and discharge close. Could you confirm me the shell is same i means its not like carrier 30hxc or 30gx as we can always work on side B and keep the side A running even we can Vacume the Side B keep running B.
i think there is no gas but as their saying the other two running and making temp means there is same and the shell is same for all there is no devide or sperated shell for each comprassor im confused herr
-
@FROSTFLOW i have only seen one single evaporator on those machines.
Its called a “Yenta Recording” go to the Turbocor stuff in “Member Files” There is a quick start guide we made, and also the SMT manual.
In the manual, it shows you how to do a yenta recording.
If you send me the file, i can open it in my SMT, and see everythig you can see. We can check settings, configuration, and what its doing.
If you can clear the fault, and go though a startup, that would help.
But if i have that it will be like im on site with you

@the-chiller-guys ive replayed you privately please check the files and let me know if there is any issue

my client said they have change the HMI so during replacement of HMI only two compressor work was working and the third wasn’t there so they now replace third one and HMI is showing suction and discharge error
-
@FROSTFLOW ok, I will take a look as quick as i can.

@FrostFlow the cable that connects the transducers and inlet guide vanes are notorious for going bad, I’m sorry I just don’t have time to go into this deeply, we are slammed with overhauls and repairs, these Florida summers are brutal.
1-
@joe-patton just list me default setting for inlet guide vanes. list me some setting that suppose to be in my compressor setup just look into a pictures of mins please

The actual compression ratio is above the alarm limit. its set for 5.5, and the actual is over 11 on both of those yentas that you sent me. (AKA the compressor does not want to start because its thinks its going to destroy itself, or surge under that condition.
1. Can you be 100% sure that the suction pressure is actually that low, and the discharge pressure is actually that high? (Verify all sensors and transducers are within a couple percent, and let us know).
2. Whats your chilled Water setpoint? (in the Turbocor it looks like 44, is that correct?)
3. whats your entering and leaving condenser water temps (measured)?
4. Whats your entering and leaving chilled water temps (Measured)?
4. Do you happen to have a data sheet with the design conditions? (if not, its not the end of the world, just helps).Answer those, and ill get back asap!
If you took a yenta from the other compressors that are working, send those over as well. (Not a huge deal at this point if you dont have them, but may be helpful to see them.

@FrostFlow check out my comment above, and let me know
-
@the-chiller-guys the shell is same for all three comprassors
-
@the-chiller-guys how much should i keep the IGV. Its running from modbus plc from io card
-
-
-
These are the pictures of running comprassors
-
@FrostFlow that’s perfect with the Modbus control.
The compressor logic will open and close the IGV based on demand, and “pressure ratio” until it reaches 110%, then it transitions to speed control and runs the speed up and down to maintain the load. As long as the compressor thinks it’s safe to do so.
To me it looks like the suction and discharge transducers are reading way off if they are on the same vessel. To calculate the compression ratio (total work on the compressor / impeller). It is taking Absolute discharge / absolute suction pressure. You can see that the pressure ratio on the one operating is 2.7.
On the Two yentas I was looking at it was over 11.
It seems weird that both are doing it though, makes me think it’s a commissioning issue, wiring issue, or the transducers are not reading right.
Can you verify the pressure / temperature sensors. There is one on the discharge and one on the suction.
There is a checkout procedure inside the TT series IOM manual for how to do it.
Go through the procedure in the book, and if that checks out, go through and double check the pressure on the suction and discharge to be 100% that they are on the same circuit as the others.
If you have the time can you pull a yenta file for the working ones?
when I do the centrifugal chiller trainings I want to run through this one for the guys, so keep me updated with what you come up with, and log some information for me if you could.
I am also free for a call if you want to talk when your on site as well, just send me your what’s app over message-
@the-chiller-guys for sure brother i will try to catch the yantas for you. But may i know the best setting for three comprassors on same vassel. Each comprassor is 80ton

@FrostFlow Here is the link for the service manual in the “member files”. Take a look at my previous comment and let me know

@FrostFlow what setting are you referring to? compression ratio? or something else?
-
@the-chiller-guys i mean to say best setting and parameters for commissioning again having common vassel for discharge and suction for three comprassors set. Might be possible my setting is wrong.
1-
@FrostFlow the compressor is mostly plug and play, the main controller should call for each of the 3 stages to start, and then give them a load or unload command.
The compressor will reference its own logic for determining if it is safe to load up.
It should reference its own pressure transducers mounted in the suction and discharge for control.
Everything else should be plug and play.
I didn’t get into the config more than checking the compression ratio, because your suction transducer was reading 2 psi, and discharge was reading over 177.
Start there, and let me know after you’ve figured that part out1
-
-
-
Suction is 2psi might be possible EXV isn’t opening ? as EXV is connected to IO board and IO board is to PLC
