Tossing around some ideas for later this year. Whats your guy’s thoughts on putting together a mobile app for the portal?
We want to set it up as a mobile app, so guys can use it on the fly from their phone without having to login in a web browser.
What are your guy’s overall thoughts on going this route?
What all would you like to see included to make it easier to use?

I know I personally would use it more if it were an app, but just curious what you guys had to say

I personally prefer App.
It will be easy to log in, more secure, use the option and reach the message notifications easily.. etc.

Well, frankly speaking
The website before, only one thing ,the files (manuals and other) were nice organised and easy to access.
Anyway it’s good that you keeping know what guys prefer. You’re working hard, so good luck to you.

@mohammad-ali that’s good feedback. Maybe after the next live call we can stay on and talk about improvements for the portal.
The files on here are extremely easy to move around, I just need to find out what’s the easiest for a majority of the guys in here to find everything1

App would be good. If you can access the PDF files from the app as well that would be perfect. Make the layout simple as possible!!

Apple is very strict I am finding, so we may have to release it in phases, so it doesn’t take 6 months to get approved lol1

App is way better typically, I’d for sure be more likely just to open it to see the most current discussions more in between social media checking.

@trevor-dudeck thats what i was thinking too, i am in and out of apps all the time as well, and thats what i prefer as well.
I started the process, and got the developer team on it. The first Rev wont be as sexy as later revisions, but i want some feedback from the guys and see how they like it before we go too crazy.
Apple wants to crawl up our rear end before we can post the app with company checks and vetting which makes sense, but as soon at all of that is done the developers should be able to get it published. Hoping for 2-3 months. With everything, things seems to take longer than anticipated lol
But we pulled the trigger on it.

I have converted this into a webapp already, so a real app would be nice

@Vas how did you do that? Did you just save the icon, or something else?
We started the process. Going to take about a month before we can get our developer account approved, and another 2-3 weeks before we can go live with it, so somewhere between 2-3 months it should be live.
With all of this stuff, things seem to take longer than we expect, but that’s the aim.-
@the-chiller-guys whoops sorry for the late reply, yeah like Avi said, just a shortcut to the website but it opens in a standalone browser

@avishkar-rao save the webpage to an app style link on the home page?
Does it still open in the browser, or is it without the browser like an app?

@avishkar-rao ok, i was aware of that, i thought you meant a legit app with notifications and everything, my bad.
The app will be a lot more user friendly I’m thinking, and everyone would get notified easier. I think most guys would prefer a legit mobile app, myself included.
what are your thoughts on going the full native app route?

@avishkar-rao cool, were going to roll with it, after talking with the guys, i think everyone (including me lol) is on the same page. takes time to get the approval from apple, but we will roll it out as fast as possible.
